. The idea of combining the cooking gear needed to make the morning meal into gadgets is a great one. The kitchen is one spot where gadgets aren’t for the geeks, but for the avearage Joe.

The Egg Poaching Toaster is just such gear. Combining a two-slice toaster with an egg steamer is an excellent way to make the perfect on-the-go breakfast sandwich. What’s more is the unit has combined toaster/egg settings, it’s smart enough to know when to start the toaster up so that it finishes at the same time as the eggs—nothing’s getting cold here.

It’s a counter-top gadget, so you can store it when it’s not in use, which is great for us apartment dwellers. It’s yours for $50, or it makes a great gift for the fortunate bachelor in your life. We realize you may have seen it elsewhere before, but we’ve never covered it, and since it’s gift-buying time, we figured, “why not?”
