If your laptop doesn't have a DVD burner, LG has an external one that shouldn't add too much weight to your bag - the GSA-E5ON Slim Portable Super Multi.
The slimline device (at just 21.4mm wide) is a USB powered 8x optical rewriter designed specifically for use with laptops - and USB means no additional power cables. It also features SecurDisc content protection technology, which allows you to secure and prevent the loss of data. That includes passwords, data reliability testing, copy protection, digital signatures and data integrity checks.
The GSA-E5ON is compatible with Windows Vista and has the ability to read and write in all three DVD formats (DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and DVD-RAM). There's also Lightscribe technology for labelling your discs. Available in the coming weeks, price to be confirmed.
