Vinyl is still very much here - and if you listen to some people, offering an improved sound quality compared to your average CD. But that's dependent on the quality of vinyl and quality of player. You could go in the right direction for the latter with the Project RPM5 turntable.
It's an interesting piece of design, cut down to the absolute basics and ideal for that minimalist look. It's supplied with an Ortofon Tango cartridge factory-fitted, is highly damped and features three height-adjustable rubberised cone feet, a decoupled motor and low-resonance plinth. The arm is a high-quality, conical, carbon-fibre design and the whole is finished in a high-gloss lacquer.
The belt-drive deck also features 2x gold-plated phono/RCA sockets and an earth screw. It's not the cheapest on the market for £499, but it's certainly worth a look if you want the looks and the sound.
