Is your breath kicking?

by Darrell

BreathAlertPicture yourself locked in a room with the woman (or man) of your dreams. A certain smell starts to permeate the air and you ask yourself, “Is that horrible breath me or her?”
Imagine the awkward moment when you cup your hands to your face to check the breath level. It could be a horrible experience. Well the BreathAlert aims to squash those fears and give you the guts to bust a move.

Technically speaking, Breath Alert detects and measures the volatile sulfide compounds and hydrocarbon gas that are present when breath is bad. Depending on the amount measured, the unit displays the degree of odor in four levels. The BreathAlert does state that there are some odors it just can’t detect, so, if you have that type of stench gents, you are up the creek without a paddle.

The best thing about BreathAlert is that it runs on the sulfide compounds created by your bad breath. That’s not true, but if true would be a major breakthrough for alternative fuel development. It actually runs on a pre-installed AAA battery. Tanita Corporation created this little dandy detector and it can be found on the Tanita website.

I might buy one due to my fondness for all things spicy or packed with onions; however, I am at that point in my life where I really don’t care if my breath is bad or not. That point is called ‘married with kids’, just in case you didn’t know.
