lbag1 Lexie Barnes Echos Laptop Bag ReviewEcho laptop bags are bursting with charming character reflecting that of its self described Bohemian artist designer- Lexie Barnes. As a thespian and world traveler, Lexie has splashed droplets of her creative endeavors across her collection of bags. This series of laptop bags come in three sizes- 13, 15, and 17 inch. We chose to review the “Echo 13.”

This bag is like an adorable sexy shoe, in that it favors fashion foremost over utility. So first, we will focus on its aesthetics. As you can see in the pictures, bold is beautiful. Bali Hai is the name of this pattern. It’s great to see a bag so overtly designed for women, and it is effortless to see why she showcases them as “feminine but edgy.” The nostalgic exterior globe trotting floral patterns will find a warm place in your heart and at your side. But then, the interior gets even better as a shimmering powder pink that contrasts cleverly.

There are two double zipped compartments, one for the Lappy and the other for extras and accessories. Measuring at 14.0″ x 10.0″ x 2.0″ it snuggly hugged my 13″ MacBook in one compartment. The accessory compartment fit my chords and a few other things. It would be helpful to have any additional pockets for smaller items to keep separate. The rear slip-pocket held a Geekipedia magazine quite comfortably. Its fabric is a sort of waterproof laminated cotton that has a reminiscent feel of a soft raincoat. The perception of the fabric and the actual touch are surprisingly different. The waterproof fabric holds up to its claim. We ran some water on it, simulating…well getting caught under a waterfall? Anyhow, it slicked off just like water on that raincoat. It’s capable of withstanding more then just your average sprinkles, something every hardcore traveler can appreciate.

Structure overall is decent, although we did notice a bit of a bulge when the accessory pocket was full. That is to be expected with such a lightweight bag. However, it still offers a great deal of sturdiness. The matching padded shoulder pad on the adjustable carrying strap is very comfortable, as are the carrying handles.

Other products include Yoga Mat Bags, Knitting Bags, and Travel Bags. The Bali Hai colored “Echo 13″ currently retails at about $72, and the other colors go for about $90. Hey this kind of glamor doesn’t come cheap.
